Dr. Beth Kangwana
Dr Kangwana is an epidemiologist with several years working in public health research both in developing and developed countries. She currently works as a Senior Programme Officer at Population Council Kenya and is the Principal Investigator for a study testing how to improve access to community mental health services for adolescents in urban informal settlements in Kenya. She is also a co-investigator on other studies evaluating ways to improve adolescent health and well-being in developing countries.
Before joining the Council Dr Kangwana worked as a research associate at Imperial College, London, at the Centre for Infection Prevention and Management, and at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI)-Wellcome Trust Research Programme. She holds a PhD in public health epidemiology from the Open University in collaboration with the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, a masters in Global Health Science from the University of Oxford and a masters degree in Pharmacy from the University of London.
